It seems the rush for tablets is cooling down a little as tablet sales are expected to drop a massive 30% in the first quarter of 2012. Digitimes calculated the dip in sales based on the number of deliveries from vendors in Taiwan.

DigiTimes claims that Research in Motion expects to ship 1 million Playbooks to retailers in the first quarter of 2011 while the official release date still has to be confirmed by RIM itself.

DeNa has released their quarterly financials and they seem to be looking good for the giant as it prepares to take over the number one position in Social Gaming from competitor Zynga. Both also develop and publish mobile titles.

For the first time, the sales of Android powered devices overtook the iPhone sales in North America during the first quarter of 2010. Apple sunk only to the third position on the sales charts.

Korean mobile games publisher Gamevil has reported KRW3.37 billion in profits for the first quarter of 2010. Next to a record profit for the company, it also reported record revenues.

Gameloft has posted their quarterly financials for the first quarter of 2010. Revenues went up 7% and even though Gameloft has put a lot of efforts in increasing their revenues from Apple, iPhone OS brought in only 21% of the revenues.

THQ Wireless Posts Q109 Results

THQ has posted it's Q1 financial results for 2009. Though the total revenue is up 77%, The THQ Wireless business went down 18% to $4.2 million which isn't as bad as it sounds.
