Facebook took a rather interesting step yesterday as the social network announced their new Facebook for ‘Every Phone’ app. Yes, Facebook has chosen to enter the ‘old’ world of J2me.

Bitstream has released the Bolt SDK. With the SDK, developers of apps and games can integrate the browser into their projects for rendering web-based content to avoid users leaving the app.

RIM has just opened up BBM to developers that wish to include the messaging service into their BlackBerry apps. BlackBerry is however not opening up the API for usage from other platforms.

Distimo has updated its Distimo Monitor to support both BlackBerry World and Nokia’s Ovi Store. Through the Mobile Monitor, developers can check the performance of their apps as well as that of competitors.

Nokia’s Ovi Store is growing in popularity, that’s no secret. Today, the company announced that its Ovi Store is service more than 2.3 million downloads on a daily basis.

Ovi pushes out 2 million downloads a day. 90% of the Ovi visitors actually find something they want to download and 85% of the traffic is returning traffic. Carrier billing is the most popular billing method.
