The app leaked before, but yesterday the release of Flash Player 10.2 on Android became official as Adobe put the app on Google’s Android market.

Adobe released a new AIR app codenamed Wallaby that should be able to convert Flash code into HTML5. This move is a signal that Adobe understands the dominance of mobile Safari in the market and signals in the strategy for Flash moving forward.

Adobe has announced that Flash Player 10.2 is nearly ready to roll out on Android based mobile phones. The first builds should hit Android Market over the next few weeks.

Kongregate recently announced the launch of Kongregate Arcade, a new app store for Android devices that allow playback of apps based on Flash 10.x.

According to Adobe, over 10 million mobile devices are supporting Flash. Android gave Adobe a huge push as the company registered 2 million Android downloads since 10.1 was released in June of this year.

With the rise of smart TV’s, it was only to be expected that Adobe would expand their Adobe AIR format to support those smart TV’s as it already does with AIR on mobile phones.

Though Microsoft is not yet supporting Flash 10.1 on their new Windows Phone devices, Adobe has announced that it is building Flash 10.1 for Microsoft’s new platform and it will be available soon.

iSwifter, a new service from incubator YouWeb, is streaming Flash games onto iOS platforms. Though no longer needed, they still feel to address the concerns Steve Jobs raised about Flash on iOS.
