Facebook Goes J2me

July 13th, 2011 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: Facebook, Platforms: J2me | No Comments »

Facebook took a rather interesting step yesterday as the social network announced their new Facebook for ‘Every Phone’ app. Yes, Facebook has chosen to enter the ‘old’ world of J2me.

No doubt, this choice has been made to secure marketshare in third world countries where companies like Nokia still sell huge amounts of featurephones that are capable of running J2me apps. The question is, if this move by the giant will spark some live back into the J2me market which is slowly starting to lack new content.
