ITU: 5.3 Billion Mobile Devices in Use by the End of 2010

October 20th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Research & Stats | No Comments »

According to the International Telecommunication Union, there will be 5.3 billion devices in use by the end of this calendar year. 940 million of them have a 3G connection or better.

90% of the human society lives in a mobile network covered area, though in developing countries that is only 80%. The number of new cellphone subscriptions versus extensions is decreasing. Though there is not much game specific information in the report, it is a nice read.
