Flurry started the New Year with over 300 developers using its free service within the first 60 days of going Beta. Flurry is now making available its free service to all iPhone, Android, Blackberry and J2me.

According to several sources on the web, Microsoft will announce it's App Store rival “Skymarket” on the Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcalona. This means that the launch is about a month away.

Though Apple's App Store is still leading in the number of available mobile games and applications, Google announced that Android's Marketplace is also growing steady. The channel currently holds 800 mobile applications and games.
Spil Aims Flash Lite Mobile Games Domination

Marc van der Chijs, the Spil Games Asia CEO, expects that Spil Games will be leading the mobile games market in about three years. The company expects that the market will move to Flash Lite.

Rockpool Closes Down

Next to offloading staff over 2008, due to restructuring, the company has now also chosen to shutdown Rockpool Games. A mobile games studio which was acquired about three years ago.
